David Lonsdale began to practice yoga in 1983, following an accident. Most people begin to practice yoga owing to a physical complaint. Whilst each class gives much attention to the body, there cannot be any lasting physical balance and harmony without establishing mental and emotional balance. Therefore the yoga postures are performed mindfully and with focus on the breathing. You will be invited to deepen your feeling and to expand your awareness. By following the classes regularly your insight and awareness will become increasingly deeper and wider. David shares his own insights with his students, lovingly and sometimes with humour.

David is a certified teacher of Satyananda Yoga and the classes are strongly influenced by the teachings of the Bihar School of Yoga in India. This is an authentic form of yoga that is extremely suitable for the needs of westerners in the 21st century.

In the past David has worked with companies such as Unilever, Danone and Tommy Hilfiger using Holistic yoga methods.

As a certified IOKAI Shiatsu Therapist he has studied Traditional Chinese Medicine from 1988 and has a diploma in anatomy, physiology, pathology and psycho-social skills.
